Used as thickening (dispersing) agent
As a protective colloid, hydroxyethyl cellulose can be used in vinyl acetate emulsion polymerization to improve the stability of the polymerization system within the pH range, and to evenly disperse, stabilize and provide thickening effects on pigments, fillers and additives in the manufacture of finished products. It can also be used as styrene, acrylate, and propylene suspension polymer dispersants. Used in latex paint and real stone paint to improve thickening and leveling properties of paint.
